In the years 1970 - 1975, the Hungarian State Railway Company MÁV procured a total of 42 four and six-car lightweight train sets from locomotive factory Ganz-Mávag for the secondary lines.
The sets, which were affectionately named Piroschka, consisted of a 588 kW diesel-hydraulic locomotive with a luggage compartment as well as first and second class coaches and a pilot car
The MDa trains were in operation in Hungary until 2011, but the MDmot 3017 locomotive was restored at the Nosztalgie Company of MÁV and is operational.
The digital DC model with DIGITOOLS sound decoder has headlights and cab lighting and a fine drive with a large flywheel.
